# Reports and Analytics

> Learn how to generate and analyze financial reports in the Notch Pay dashboard

# Reports and Analytics

The Notch Pay dashboard provides powerful reporting and analytics tools to help you understand your payment data, track business performance, and make informed decisions. This guide will show you how to use these tools effectively.

## Overview of Reports

The Reports section of the dashboard gives you access to various pre-built reports and the ability to create custom reports. To access reports:

1. Log in to your [Notch Pay Business suite](https://business.notchpay.co)
2. Navigate to **Reports** in the main menu

## Transaction Reports

    Payment reports provide insights into your incoming payments:

    1. Navigate to **Reports > Transaction Reports > Payments**
    2. Set the date range for your report
    3. View key metrics:
       * Total payment volume
       * Number of transactions
       * Average transaction value
       * Success rate
       * Payment method distribution

    You can filter payment reports by:

    * Payment status
    * Payment method
    * Currency
    * Customer
    * Custom reference

    Transfer reports provide insights into your outgoing transfers:

    1. Navigate to **Reports > Transaction Reports > Transfers**

       * Transfer method distribution

    You can filter transfer reports by:

    * Transfer status
    * Transfer method
    * Currency
    * Beneficiary

       * Bank account details

    Settlement reports help you reconcile your Notch Pay account with your bank statements.

## Financial Reports

       * Transaction fees

    Revenue reports can be viewed as daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly aggregates.

   * Payment method preferences

You can segment customer analytics by:

* Customer location
* Transaction volume
* Payment frequency
* Payment method

## Custom Reports

Custom reports allow you to create tailored reports for your specific needs:

1. Navigate to **Reports > Custom Reports**
2. Click **Create Custom Report**
3. Select the data points you want to include:
   * Transaction data
   * Customer data
   * Financial data
   * Time-based metrics
4. Set filters and conditions
5. Choose visualization options:

Saved custom reports appear in your Custom Reports list for easy access.

### Data Tables

Data tables provide detailed information that can be sorted, filtered, and exported:

1. Click on any data table in a report
2. Sort columns by clicking on column headers
3. Filter data using the filter controls
4. Export the table data to CSV or Excel

## Exporting Reports

You can export any report for further analysis or sharing:

1. Navigate to the report you want to export
2. Click the **Export** button
3. Choose the export format:
   * CSV (for data analysis)
   * Excel (for spreadsheet analysis)
   * PDF (for sharing and presentation)
4. Select the data to include
5. Click **Export**
6. The report will be downloaded to your computer

## Scheduled Reports

You can schedule reports to be automatically generated and sent to you or your team:

1. Navigate to the report you want to schedule
2. Click the **Schedule** button
3. Set the schedule frequency:
   * Daily
   * Weekly
   * Monthly
   * Quarterly
4. Choose the delivery method:
   * Email
   * Dashboard notification
   * API webhook
5. Add recipients (for email delivery)
6. Click **Save Schedule**

Scheduled reports will be generated automatically according to your settings.

## Report Sharing

You can share reports with team members or external stakeholders:

1. Navigate to the report you want to share
2. Click the **Share** button
3. Choose the sharing method:
   * Direct link (for team members with dashboard access)
   * Email (sends a PDF or link to the report)
   * Export and share manually
4. Set permissions for shared reports
5. Add a message (optional)
6. Click **Share**

## Data Security and Privacy

Notch Pay takes data security and privacy seriously:

* All report data is encrypted in transit and at rest
* Access to reports is controlled by user permissions
* Personal data in reports is protected according to privacy regulations
* You can control what data is included in exported and shared reports

1. **Regular Review**: Schedule time to review key reports weekly or monthly
